Latoya ‘Fits’ Okuneye (b. 1998) is a photographer and multidisciplinary artist based in London. Her practice is rooted in intentional visual storytelling, with a vibrant, colourful, emotionally charged style that centres portraiture, particularly of young black people. Latoya’s journey as an artist is one rooted in play, practice and open mindedness, ego aware she believes these are fundamentally what births striking and distinct portraiture and impactful storytelling.

Her work is deeply personal and socially engaged, drawing from both sociological and psychological frameworks to interrogate how identity is shaped, performed, and perceived. Her work continues to carve out space for nuanced representations of Black life and beauty, pushing forward necessary conversations around visibility, community and radical healing with one of her personal project featuring in the prestigious Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait prize exhibition 2024/2025

Latoya is also now an undergraduate studying BA applied psychosocial and psychotherapy studies- deepening her research driven practice around authentic reflection of black communities in the arts.

Over the past 3.5 years she has brought this passion into the commercial space working as a full time art & commercial photographer working with major brands including FA, Channel 4 & Tik Tok - specialising in culturally driven TVC, social & OOH campaigns.
